Travel opinions for 5 day backpacking trip to Italy?
Nov 6th
I wish to visit Italy on a backpacking trip for 5 days/4 nights. I have booked my tickets to reach Rome on 29th June morning, and return from Venice on 3rd July at night. Am open to all suggestions on cities to visit in the 5 days, and how much time to spend at each place, and other practical tips (including money savers).
Could I get tips, adivce, or book recommendations on urban backpacking?

One thing I’ve wanted to try is walking the Californian coast line from Los Angeles to near the border of Oregon.
THE SMART BACKPACKER: Student Traveller Tips to Keeping Your Things Safe
Oct 27th
Congratulations! You have just made your choice of lugging around wherever what would be technically your “home” for the duration of your trip. Choosing the indie backpacker way for travel is already a decision to keeping your thingamajigs safer. However, backpackers continue to ask the immortal question of how you really keep your things safe during voyage, with extreme stress to travel in most parts of Asia or Africa.
Hit the Sack.
This is among the most vital things you should hit right. The backpack need not be simply sturdy and reliable. It has to be the right pack for the traveller More >

Backpacking Techniques for Lightweigh Backpacking
Sep 22nd
These lightweight backpacking tips and techniques are options or ideas, not recommendations. I tend towards the extreme side of ultralight backpacking, and if you don’t know yourself or your skills, some of these techniques will get you into trouble.
A good example of this is the “natural mattress” that allows you to leave your sleeping bag behind. With this technique, I’ve slept with no pad, and only a five-ounce sleeping bag liner, on a night when it was near freezing. It took fifteen minutes to collect enough bracken ferns to make a two-foot thick mattress, but it was comfortable and warm.
