Sometimes, I choose from places I’ve never visited before. Other times, I choose based on local festivals, exhibitions or events. If both are combined in one location, that would be even better.

You are not going to like my answer but it is the bitter truth from bitter experience. We have always known there were problems with the postal systems in South America – applying the reasoning that “it’s a developing country so they must be dishonest”. Having sent and received dozens of packages and letters with no problems, even including items that were reasonably valuable.

Until recently, when the parcel to our client in Colombia arrived two or three weeks late. This time, the card and paperwork were inside, however the computer disc had gone. The parcel had been sealed up again with tape and there was no sign that it had been opened.

Well, the computer disc wasn’t very expensive and we guess we should be happy that they delivered the card and paperwork. But somehow it makes us angry because it is so blatant and obvious that someone went through the packages looking for items to steal… at least if a package gets lost there are lots of possible explanations and you don’t know for certain that it was stolen.

We know what to do in future even though it will cost us 12 times the postal rate to send the same package, we will send it by UPS or DHL, at least then we are able to keep track of the consignment.

Using either of the above will at least give you peace of mind and the knowledge that the customs declaration has been correctly completed as the parcel stays with either of those two companies until it reaches its destination, unlike the postal service where it goes through various agencies as it travels the world.

Hopefully, it opens your mind, and shows you other cultures. You get to experience how other people live, what type of food they eat, and how they spend their time relaxing.

It depends on how you define bad, I pick up visitors from Dinard in Brittany the luggage allowance from the UK was 30 kilos on returning they dropped it to 15 kilos so every one had to pay an excess. however, if you took it out of your suitcase and put it in the hand luggage it was ok, seems rather strange to me. we have only had one delay and that was 30 mins apart from that none whatsoever. The pilots are 1st class, they have to be, if you are taking a child or baby you get preferential treatment, I guess you get what you pay for. With this in mind Eurostar are charging £40 return from St. Pancras to Paris, no limit to luggage and twice as quick, and believe it or not, trains don’t fall from the sky.

I heard flying is the best way to travel, but the least expensive way is driving, however your husband should help, with your daughter. Because is she is just spending time with you its just going to lead to her and her dad not getting along. Especially now that shes 13 there is gonna be some trouble in the future just like it is with all teens but as long as she has good memory’s of you and your husband you’ll get over all problems
Well im only 17 and that’s just my opinion, But im not so close to my dad cuz he travels everywhere i never see him, and i fight with him constantly, so i hope that tension doesn’t happen with your husband and your daughter.

A few particulars I was wondering:
I am 19, and I know that the drinking age (for beer) is 16 in Germany (18 for hard liquor), but since it is an international flight, do American or German laws for that apply?

How much earlier than my departure time should I get to the airport?

Am I allowed to bring razors for shaving on my checked baggage or should I just buy them when I get there?

What items would you suggest I just buy when I get there versus trying to bring them thru an airport?

are you going to check in online? if not….I would say 90 minutes. Check to see what the latest check in time is (it’s earlier than for domestic flights!) and give yourself at least 1/2 hour more than that, to be on safe side…

yes, razors are OK

well….remember you are limited for liquids, so decide what you can’t live without, until you get to store in Tchermany!
